Southern forces told Northern soldiers to leave. Lt. Anderson moved his men from Ft Moultrie to Ft Sumpter. A Northern Navy ship tried bring supplies to Lt Anderson and his men. Southern forces fired cannons at and drove off the supply ship.
On Morris island a regiment of African American soldiers in the Northern Army charged a Southern fort. These heros made a great sacrifice for freedom. The movie Glory was based their story.
